中文 | 人为妇人所生,日子短少,多有患难。 |
英文 | Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble. |

中文 | 出来如花,又被割下。飞去如影,不能存留。 |
英文 | He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not. |

中文 | 这样的人你岂睁眼看他吗。又叫我来受审吗。 |
英文 | And dost thou open thine eyes upon such an one, and bringest me into judgment with thee? |

中文 | 谁能使洁净之物出于污秽之中呢。无论谁也不能。 |
英文 | Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one. |

中文 | 人的日子既然限定,他的月数在你那里,你也派定他的界限,使他不能越过。 |
英文 | Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass; |

中文 | 便求你转眼不看他,使他得歇息。直等他像雇工人完毕他的日子。 |
英文 | Turn from him, that he may rest, till he shall accomplish, as an hireling, his day. |

中文 | 树若被砍下,还可指望发芽,嫩枝生长不息。 |
英文 | For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. |

中文 | 其根虽然衰老在地里,干也死在土中。 |
英文 | Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground; |

中文 | 及至得了水气,还要发芽,又长枝条,像新栽的树一样。 |
英文 | Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant. |

中文 | 但人死亡而消灭。他气绝,竟在何处呢。 |
英文 | But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he? |

中文 | 海中的水绝尽,江河消散乾涸。 |
英文 | As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up: |

中文 | 人也是如此,躺下不再起来。等到天没有了,仍不得复醒,也不得从睡中唤醒。 |
英文 | So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep. |

中文 | 惟愿你把我藏在阴间,存于隐密处,等你的忿怒过去。愿你为我定了日期,记念我。 |
英文 | O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me! |

中文 | 人若死了岂能再活呢。我只要在我一切争战的日子,等我被释放(被释放或作改变)的时候来到。 |
英文 | If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come. |

英文 | Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands. |

中文 | 但如今你数点我的脚步,岂不窥察我的罪过吗。 |
英文 | For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin? |

中文 | 我的过犯被你封在囊中,也缝严了我的罪孽。 |
英文 | My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up mine iniquity. |

中文 | 山崩变为无有。磐石挪开原处。 |
英文 | And surely the mountain falling cometh to nought, and the rock is removed out of his place. |
第19段
中文 | 水流消磨石头,所流溢的洗去地上的尘土。你也照样灭绝人的指望。 |
英文 | The waters wear the stones: thou washest away the things which grow out of the dust of the earth; and thou destroyest the hope of man. |

中文 | 你攻击人常常得胜,使他去世。你改变他的容貌,叫他往而不回。 |
英文 | Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passeth: thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away. |

中文 | 他儿子得尊荣,他也不知道。降为卑,他也不觉得。 |
英文 | His sons come to honour, and he knoweth it not; and they are brought low, but he perceiveth it not of them. |

中文 | 但知身上疼痛,心中悲哀。 |
英文 | But his flesh upon him shall have pain, and his soul within him shall mourn. |
