中文 | 智慧人岂可用虚空的知识回答,用东风充满肚腹呢。 |
英文 | Should a wise man utter vain knowledge, and fill his belly with the east wind? |

中文 | 他岂可用无益的话,和无济于事的言语,理论呢。 |
英文 | Should he reason with unprofitable talk? or with speeches wherewith he can do no good? |

中文 | 你是废弃敬畏的意,在神面前阻止敬虔的心。 |
英文 | Yea, thou castest off fear, and restrainest prayer before God. |

中文 | 你的罪孽指教你的口。你选用诡诈人的舌头。 |
英文 | For thy mouth uttereth thine iniquity, and thou choosest the tongue of the crafty. |

中文 | 你自己的口定你有罪,并非是我。你自己的嘴,见证你的不是。 |
英文 | Thine own mouth condemneth thee, and not I: yea, thine own lips testify against thee. |

中文 | 你岂是头一个被生的人吗。你受造在诸山之先吗。 |
英文 | Art thou the first man that was born? or wast thou made before the hills? |

中文 | 你曾听见神的密旨吗。你还将智慧独自得尽吗。 |
英文 | Hast thou heard the secret of God? and dost thou restrain wisdom to thyself? |

中文 | 你知道什么是我们不知道的呢。你明白什么是我们不明白的呢。 |
英文 | What knowest thou, that we know not? what understandest thou, which is not in us? |

中文 | 我们这里有白发的,和年纪老迈的,比你父亲还老。 |
英文 | With us are both the grayheaded and very aged men, much elder than thy father. |

中文 | 神用温和的话安慰你,你以为太小吗。 |
英文 | Are the consolations of God small with thee? is there any secret thing with thee? |

中文 | 你的心为何将你逼去。你的眼为何冒出火星。 |
英文 | Why doth thine heart carry thee away? and what do thy eyes wink at, |

中文 | 使你的灵反对神,也任你的口发这言语。 |
英文 | That thou turnest thy spirit against God, and lettest such words go out of thy mouth? |

中文 | 人是什么,竟算为洁净呢。妇人所生的是什么,竟算为义呢。 |
英文 | What is man, that he should be clean? and he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous? |

中文 | 神不信靠他的众圣者。在他眼前,天也不洁净。 |
英文 | Behold, he putteth no trust in his saints; yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight. |

中文 | 何况那污秽可憎,喝罪孽如水的世人呢。 |
英文 | How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinketh iniquity like water? |

英文 | I will shew thee, hear me; and that which I have seen I will declare; |

中文 | 就是智慧人从列祖所受,传说而不隐瞒的。 |
英文 | Which wise men have told from their fathers, and have not hid it: |

英文 | Unto whom alone the earth was given, and no stranger passed among them. |

中文 | 恶人一生之日劬劳痛苦,强暴人一生的年数也是如此。 |
英文 | The wicked man travaileth with pain all his days, and the number of years is hidden to the oppressor. |

中文 | 惊吓的声音常在他耳中。在平安时,抢夺的必临到他那里。 |
英文 | A dreadful sound is in his ears: in prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him. |

中文 | 他不信自己能从黑暗中转回,他被刀剑等候。 |
英文 | He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for of the sword. |

中文 | 他漂流在外求食,说,那里有食物呢。他知道黑暗的日子,在他手边预备好了。 |
英文 | He wandereth abroad for bread, saying, Where is it? he knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand. |

中文 | 急难困苦叫他害怕,而且胜了他,好像君王预备上阵一样。 |
英文 | Trouble and anguish shall make him afraid; they shall prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle. |
第25段
中文 | 他伸手攻击神,以骄傲攻击全能者。 |
英文 | For he stretcheth out his hand against God, and strengtheneth himself against the Almighty. |

中文 | 挺着颈项,用盾牌的厚凸面,向全能者直闯。 |
英文 | He runneth upon him, even on his neck, upon the thick bosses of his bucklers: |

中文 | 是因他的脸蒙上脂油,腰积成肥肉。 |
英文 | Because he covereth his face with his fatness, and maketh collops of fat on his flanks. |

中文 | 他曾住在荒凉城邑,无人居住,将成乱堆的房屋。 |
英文 | And he dwelleth in desolate cities, and in houses which no man inhabiteth, which are ready to become heaps. |
第29段
中文 | 他不得富足,财物不得常存,产业在地上也不加增。 |
英文 | He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall he prolong the perfection thereof upon the earth. |
第30段
中文 | 他不得出离黑暗。火焰要将他的枝子烧乾。因神口中的气,他要灭亡(灭亡原文作走去)。 |
英文 | He shall not depart out of darkness; the flame shall dry up his branches, and by the breath of his mouth shall he go away. |

中文 | 他不用倚靠虚假欺哄自己,因虚假必成为他的报应。 |
英文 | Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity: for vanity shall be his recompence. |
第32段
中文 | 他的日期未到之先,这事必成就。他的枝子不得青绿。 |
英文 | It shall be accomplished before his time, and his branch shall not be green. |

中文 | 他必像葡萄树的葡萄,未熟而落。又像橄榄树的花,一开而谢。 |
英文 | He shall shake off his unripe grape as the vine, and shall cast off his flower as the olive. |

中文 | 原来不敬虔之辈必无生育。受贿赂之人的帐棚必被火烧。 |
英文 | For the congregation of hypocrites shall be desolate, and fire shall consume the tabernacles of bribery. |
第35段
中文 | 他们所怀的是毒害,所生的是罪孽,心里所豫备的是诡诈。 |
英文 | They conceive mischief, and bring forth vanity, and their belly prepareth deceit. |
